Small electronic sensors can be used to add interactive elements to a wide variety of art and craft projects. They can be embedded into paintings, drawings, sculptures, textiles, furniture, and more.
Common concepts are: detecting human presence or proximity, and detecting human interaction (for instance: pressing a button, or standing in a specific location). Sensors (not shown in our gallery) can also be used to detect ambient/environmental properties like light intensity, or temperature.
We present a small gallery of sensors as a way of inspiring artists to include interactivity in their work These are shown in deliberately simple and extensible forms, and are mostly being used to trigger LEDs. Sensors can also be used to trigger movement, sound, power, and a wide variety of different types of lights.
