The Haystack Fab Lab is the school's centralized hub for digital fabrication, dedicated to offering students and faculty unparalleled opportunities to advance their studio practices with innovative techniques. The Fab Lab is available to participants during sessions and is staffed by trained technicians who can help provide access and training to software and hardware.
At its core, the Fab Lab is a dynamic and versatile digital fabrication and design studio, distinct in its function compared to other campus studios. It doesn't operate through dedicated workshops or programs; instead, it thrives as a communal resource accessible to all during sessions. Here, projects range from the familiar to the frontier — from crafting a custom stamp to pioneering uncharted methodologies that challenge the status quo. This diversity of projects and the open, collaborative nature of the Fab Lab environment make it a uniquely stimulating and supportive space. As you join us this summer, remember: your skills, creativity, and willingness to experiment are what make this place truly extraordinary. We're thrilled to welcome your talent and expertise into our community!
