Haystack supports the local school system by providing afterschool programs for K-12 students that expose students to various exciting technology areas through hands-on experience with support and mentorship. In the past, we have offered programs for elementary, middle, and school students. In 2022, we offered our first ever high school afterschool program, Creative Makers, which ran for 12-weeks and engaged students on a number of creative projects utilizing digital fabrication technology. If you are interested in finding out what current programs we are offering, please contact us at [email protected].
Haystack Mountain School of Crafts’ Fab Lab is bringing back Creative Makers, a creative, innovative and an exciting after-school program available to students in the Blue Hill Pennisula and Deer Isle region. The goal of this program will be to cultivate an innovative ecosystem in which local youth develop the skills and interest to create technological projects. The program will focus on developing hands-on projects within various STEM topics. Students will each focus on developing their own projects but will also get to collaborate with peers and learn in a creative environment. This program will expose students to a range of exciting areas of technology through hands-on experience with support and mentorship.
